1. Beginning: waking up for the day with an alarm 2. Middle: showing my routine during quarantine 3. End: video rewinds to start the same thing the next day I would like my video to be lighthearted in this tough time. Below I attached a picture of what I think my video would look like. It will be in the size of a phone, in a way mimicking tiktok videos. As corny as it may seem, I have seen so many people making tiktok videos simply because of boredom.

In what way did you change your process to make a piece that was site specific?  I had to change the size of my piece to make it site specific. I also had to make sure the orientation of the piece would be able to show the city in the background.  How did you challenge yourself creatively, conceptually and/or technically  in the making of this piece? If you did not feel challenged is there something you would do differently if you were to do it again? I had to challenge myself creatively because of my complication with the print center. I had to change my design very quickly and still make it so my message would get across. Conceptually I was challenged because my idea was very broad and had to be brought down into one image.  Were there elements that made the completion of this piece either more difficult or felt not challenging enough? 1. I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words so this video is really interesting to me. I never thought about how movement can tell a story in a movie or video. It is interesting to see the contrast between older movies and the movement within them and how static some current movies are. The older films almost have more impact on the viewer because they do not need to always use dialogue. 2. With the amount of shots that an editor may blend together, the video can sometimes become very choppy. This cutting between scenes can be smooth or it can be a harsh contrast. I found it interesting how different cuts can effect how we view a movie or video. I personally love the movement between scenes when the "screen is wiped" because it is a clear and flawless transition. 3. 1. Do a few searches on your favorite brands, notice what stands out to you about their logo/brand identity. Make a list of what visual elements you are drawn to. - I  really like bolder shapes that are simplified 2. Do some general searches on common logos. Make a list of what elements stand out to you (positively or negatively) - when there are gradients on shapes, I tend to not like them as much. 3. Make a list of all the nicknames you have had in your life choose one or two to make a personal logo. - I haven't really had many nicknames because my name is so short. However a family friend calls me peanut so I will base my project on that.

When it comes to street art, I believe there is a difference between art and destruction. After seeing a large amount of street art and reading about it, I still am not sure if I am against or for it. On one hand, there are beautiful murals that bring color to very blank walls. This is a way that people who are not in the arts, can be exposed to it. On the other hand, in some situations art can simply be destructive. I feel as though a lot of the 'art' on the streets are just people tagging buildings or maybe even writing inappropriate things on them. Some art is just defacement. So I guess I could define my opinion as this; street art is beautiful when it is done tastefully and with permission.

1.  How do you feel about the overall outcome of this piece in relation to your art making process?      I am pretty happy with my final outcome of this piece. I definitely did struggle because I am not the best when it comes to photoshop art. However, I feel as though my message is very clear and my piece shows that art is somewhat of an escape for me.  2.  In what way did you integrate your personal art practice into this project?     The main way I integrated my personal art into this piece is by retracing my sketches from my drawing class into my piece to represent my figure. Look at student work and artists listed below, choose at least one to respond to. Use these examples as inspiration for this assignment. I found Daisuke Takaku's work very interesting. I enjoyed how she showed multiple versions of herself while performing multiple tasks at the same time. Some of the versions of herself are just sitting and watching and others are working on what seems to be metal. Who are you and how does your artistic practice reflect that identity?  I tend to identify myself as someone who cares for other people, loves art, and wants to help through the use of art. My main career goal is to be an Art Therapist, hopefully working in a hospital. (energetic, talkative, thoughtful, brave) Thoughtful, hardworking, caring Is there something distinct about your appearance that feels like an important part of who you are? (Hair, eyes, height, skin color) My height, I am only 5'1" so I feel like people notice that I am short first. Is there an activity that you love? (travel, building things, singing, climbing) I really enjoy going to the gym. Is there a creature that you've felt an affinity to for a long time?   Dogs, specifically pitbulls.  What animals could embody the characteristics you listed above?  I think a butterfly, pitbull, an elephant, and an ant would fit these characteristics. What location(s) would this new creature exist in? This creature would live in a grassy and tropical area.

My Response: I found this article very interesting. The whole idea of changing one's name to literally represent what an American Artist is, makes me question what really makes up an artist. It is somewhat sad that I too pictured a white male when the words "American artist" were mentioned. I believe that identity can sometimes be blurred into today's age. People are able to present themselves in anyway they want by posting whatever they want on the internet. Along with being able to post whatever they want, they are also able to see really anything on the internet. This gives us more exposure to political issues and we are now easily able to form our own opinions. I found it interesting how Artist brought up the question, can people identify as a color? This also brings to question how many different ways can people identify themselves.

Collection of Roses Is there something physical you collect? I collect preserved roses but for this project I will use pictures of real roses. What digital collections do you have...for example: I have years worth of photographs, a hard drive full of music I haven't listen to in a while, resumes dating back to 2001... I have many photographs of family and friends dating back to when I was born in 2001. How does the digital world affect the way we collect? The digital world effects how we collect because we are exposed to a larger variety of items. People are able to order things online or even just keep digital files.
